A few weekends back we decided to finally make our way to one of our local zoos. We are lucky to live within 30min of both the San Francisco Zoo and Oakland Zoo, so the only issue was which one. Because we have lived in the Bay Area for almost 10 years now, and at one point ten minutes from the SF Zoo, we found it necessary to visit the SF Zoo first. And we had such a great time! Johnny is finally at a point where he can take in his surroundings and enjoy them as well. Perhaps he's not ready for a theme park, but a Zoo, where animals he's only seen in books are alive, loud and in your face, definitely. Be warn, this post is photo heavy on fury creatures.
I just went through this post with Maile so she could see/identify the animals, and she loved it! Especially the penguins. :)
